Location of all 8 Scottish Police Forces Northern Constabulary Grampian Police Fife Constabulary Lothian and Borders Police Dumfries and Galloway Constabulary Central Scotland Police Strathclyde Police Tayside Police operates within a geographical area of some 2,896 square miles (7,497 square kilometres) and serves approximately 388,000 people. Our service is provided against a backdrop of densely populated urban areas and sparsely populated rural areas.

Location of council areas that make up Tayside Dundee City Council Perth and Kinross Council Angus Council Formed in 1975 Tayside Police maintains 24/7 cover from 27 police stations situated throughout the Angus, Dundee and Perth & Kinross areas. The Force has a strength of 1151 Officers, who are assisted by 109 Special Constables and 645 Support Staff.

Operating a fleet of 238 vehicles Tayside Police patrols a road network of approximately 5000 miles. During the past year we have dealt with in excess of 350,000 telephone calls and responded to 165,934 incidents of which 32,990 were 999 calls.

Tayside Police has been recognised as a Charter Mark Award holder since 1993. This is the fourth consecutive time that the force has received the award. The Charter Mark Award scheme is owned and supported by the Government for the improvement of customer service provision within the public sector. It fits with the government's agenda for public service reform by focusing on key criteria such as setting standards, consulting users, using resources effectively and delivering customer satisfaction. The standard is held for three years.
