Tayside Police
Community Liaison Officers

Constable Fraser White People in Auchterarder may think they are seeing double this spring with the addition of a second Bobby on a Bike.

Constable Fraser White became the area's first police officer to use a mountain bike and pedal power to get around when he took up post as a G8 Community Liaison Officer in September.

Fraser has now been joined by Constable John Fairley, who has spent 17 years of his policing career in the Perthshire town.

Now enjoying a new job on a familiar beat, John has been provided with his own mountain bike and is working alongside Fraser as the first point of contact for local people who have questions about the policing operation.

Both officers are based at the G8 office at Auchterarder Police Station and will be out and about meeting people, hearing what they have to say about the forthcoming summit and providing answers and information.

Heading up the community liaison team is Inspector Athol Aitken, who is preparing to roll out a range of initiatives to boost communication with local people in the run up to the summit.

Details of new projects and initiatives will be posted on this website over the coming weeks.

Local people are invited to drop in to the Tayside Police G8 surgeries for a chat with Fraser or John.
