Meet our latest recruit in the fight against crime. He's a German Shepherd puppy called Rebel. One of a litter of seven pups bred especially for police work by Lothian and Borders Police, you can follow our new recruit's progress over the coming months on this special diary page. Rebel Finds a New Kennel 18-09-2009 Well, it’s been some time now since I updated my puppy diary! So much has been happening. As you know, the work undertaken by Police dogs is extremely demanding and not all dogs are suited to the type of work needed to be a successful police dog. Unfortunately, although extremely handsome and very affectionate, it would appear that I'm just not cut out for the role. I guess you could say that I'm just too nice! Mike told me not to be down on myself as lots of dogs fail to make it as a working police dog. In order to ensure that I live a happy, stress free and fulfilled life, I am now living with a new family in Fife. When I heard that Fife was a Kingdom I thought everyone there might be living in a big castle but it turned out I was barking up the wrong tree and I'm in a lovely family home with all the comforts a pampered pooch could desire. Anyway, I'm not quite mature enough to be a canine King, although I'm certainly still enjoying being a Prince Charming. I would like to thank everyone who has e-mailed my agent Sarah asking about me. It is amazing to think that so many people around the world have taken such an interest in my development and I'm sure that you will all continue to support my chums in the Tayside Police dog section. Must dash, I have an appointment for a tummy tickle... Rebel |
